센티멘토 라티노 - 후안 디에고 플로레즈

성악가들이 개인적으로 내는 음반들은 주로 자신이 자주 부르는 오페라의 아리아이거나 자국의 노래들이다. 과거엔 개인 음반을 낼 정도의 유명한 성악가들이 주로 이탈리안이고, 또 이탈리아 민요들이 대체로 유명해서인지 이탈리아 민요를 담은 음반들이 많았는데, 요즘 워낙 다양한 나라 출신의 성악가들이 많다보니 평소 들어보기 힘든 여러 나라의 노래들을 이들을 통해 들을 기회가 많다.

 

후안 디에고 플로레즈를 좋아하다보니 그의 개인 음반을 몇장 가지고 있지만, 대부분 오페라 아리아나 중창을 모은 것이고 '센티멘토 라티노'라는 이 음반은 한편 궁금하면서도 선뜻 사고 싶은 맘이 들지 않아 늘 지나쳤다.

그러다, 우연히 누군가 쓴 리뷰를 보았는데, 이 음반이 예상밖의 기쁨을 주더라는 간단하고 담담한 평이었다. '예상밖'이라는 그 한마디가 내게 이 음반을 사게 만들었다.

전곡을 한번 듣고 나서, 이 음반을 알게 된 것이 참 기뻤다. 보물을 발견한 기분~

노래와 플로레즈의 목소리가 무척 잘 어울리는 느낌이다.

다른 사람이 이 노래들을 부르는 것을 들은 적이 없으니 비교할 수는 없지만 들을 때마다 항상 기분 좋아진다.

우울한 날 들으면 우울함을 없애주고, 기분 좋은 날 들으면 날아갈 것 같고 ...
